Before joining Belagua, he was general secretary and secretary of the board of directors of Unión Fenosa Gas (Grupo Naturgy) for almost two decades, where he directed the group’s legal services and internal audit department, including, among others, Infrastructures of Gas, Unión Fenosa Gas Comercializadora, Unión Fenosa Gas Exploration and Production, Sagunto Regasification Plant, UFG Infrastructures BV, Palawan Sulu Sea Gas Inc and Spanish-Egyptian Gas Company.
Previously, for eight years, he was general secretary of the cable operator Madritel and directed the legal services of the cable and telecommunications operators of the Retevisión-Auna group, today integrated into Vodafone and Orange.
He has advised on numerous domestic and transnational projects and operations and participated in arbitrations for the resolution of international disputes in the energy sector before various organizations, such as ICSID or the ICC. The direction of the dispute against the Egyptian government over the gas supply problems to the Damietta plant stands out, which included various international arbitration procedures and which culminated successfully for Unión Fenosa Gas in 2021 with an economic agreement for an amount of more than 2,000 million of dollars.
Likewise, he has extensive teaching experience as a professor and disseminator in various postgraduate and specialization programs in institutions such as Instituto de Empresa, ICADE, Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, Instituto para el Fomento Empresarial, Instituto de la Empresa Familiar or Instituto de Estudios Europeos.
