For close to a decade, he worked as a lawyer at the offices of Clifford Chance in Amsterdam and London, where he specialized in commercial and regulatory law, advising investment funds and other clients on cross-border transactions and financing, mainly in the financial, energy and real estate.
Subsequently, he was director of the legal department of the Abengoa group, actively intervening in the process of internationalization of the energy, environment, engineering, construction and infrastructure businesses that it carried out between 2009 and 2013. He then dealt with the creation and structuring of Atlantica Yield (today Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure), the London-based company that acquired a large part of Abengoa’s renewable energy and infrastructure assets. In the latter, he was responsible for legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters, actively participating in its IPO on the New York NASDAQ market.
Recently, he has participated in numerous international projects in the technological field, advising numerous companies in the sector, entrepreneurs, start-ups, venture capital companies and equity and debt investment funds on commercial and regulatory matters, prominently in the field software, Web 2.0, Web 3.0, blockchain, and digital assets.
His usual working languages are Spanish, English and Dutch, and he has knowledge of German, French, Italian and Portuguese.
